Let me introduce myself. My name is Josh Ransom and I will be the new ART teacher at Prep Classes. I am so grateful that I get to teach such an amazing subject!

I am motivated by being around people and I have a passion for expression and communication through art. I have taught art and music in a variety of school settings (charter, public, private, international, and on my Art Bus) for 20 years. Over those 20 years, I have had the privilege to inspire, motivate, encourage, challenge, and develop thousands of students ranging from 4 years old to adults. Some of the classes I have taught are Elementary Art, Middle School Art, High School Art (Drawing 1, Drawing 2, Sculpture, Pottery & Ceramics), and Adult art classes (Sculpture, . I would have to say my favorite medium is… all of them :)

I hold degrees in Art Education and Music Education. While there were many things I enjoyed about teaching in a traditional school setting, I thoroughly enjoy working with smaller, more focused groups to share my knowledge, skills, and love of art. The past 8 years I have taught in smaller settings, for which I am grateful to be starting at PREP. I still can’t believe I married such a wonderful woman and am a father to 6 amazing kids!

Our family’s journey has taken us to a variety of places: Texas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea. We have lived in two international communities and are so grateful for our friends in every continent (except Antarctica!). You’ll have to ask me about our overseas experiences, maybe over a cup of coffee!

I have so much to give and share with my students. It is my joy to begin my time at PREP Classes this coming school year. If you choose to enroll your child in Art, thank you for entrusting me with them and for letting me partner with you to give them skills and hands on experiences in a supportive and caring atmosphere.
